Ebay Venting

Okay, so I was planning on putting up a post to update what all I’ve been working to procure for the site when I stumbled across this and I can’t take it anymore…thus, I vent.

One of my biggest complaints as a collector is the constant struggle with the d-bags who buy a lot of stuff and don’t care what they pay, then mark it up, and resell it piecemeal. This is artificially inflating the prices of the collectibles we all love. We as society of collectors HAVE to watch for these sellers and avoid them like the plague.

For example: ebay seller www.planetforce.com bought a set of 15 battle beasts for $110 (about $7 per beast), and is marking them up to $22!!!! WTF?!? That is a mark up of 300%! And people are buying from this a-hole? Please don’t. These people will only keep marking up like this if we buy from them. Be patient, look at completed listings of what you’re looking for and figure out what a reasonable price is.

Just food for thought as a collector.

Over the past year I have gotten several comments with regard to the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles… Comments like: “What the Shell no Turtles?” or “When the Shell are the Turtles coming to rWc? Well the wait is almost over… In order to bring you the Original Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles I had to go back to where the  rWc began and dig deep into the darkest reaches of the rWc vault… What did I find you ask? Well hold onto your shells in the next few week s rWc will amaze you yet again with over 72 original figures, 20 vehicles,  THE TURTLE BLIMP!, and even the Techodrome.  Our staff is hard at work in the studio taking hundreds of pictures for the rWc event of the summer… It will be a shell of at good time… We look forward to your comments “Turtle Power!”

Update time!

I know you have all enjoyed the Virtual Toy Museum now get ready to enjoy the:

Virtual Video Game Museum

A picture history trip of Video games systems, and controllers from the past to today! Enjoy!!

That’s right Dr. J!

While Dr. J. has been hard at work bringing you some great video game endings, and adding our Transformers collections to the Virtual Toy Museum I have been digging through the rWc toy warehouse. What did I find you may be asking???? Well I have found over 30 boxes of G.I. Joe figures, vehicles, and playsets everything from the Cobra Terror Drome to a straight armed Snake Eyes. This collection dates back to the early 1980’s and most are in great shape. Over the past 3 weeks I have been researching figure, and vehicle names, and putting weapons/parts to each item. We may be missing a few parts here and there, but I know you will enjoy our collection.  Tell me more tell me more??? Well I have taken over 1000 pictures so far with several more to take. The next step is to crop the pictures and start putting them in the museum. When all said and done I will have around 500 hours invested for G.I. Joe. Why go to all this trouble you ask?  Well… It is for you the fans… So sit back, relax, and enjoy.. YO! JOE!

Update Time

Well, its been a while since the last update post, so I figure its time to do so.

First, Mark and I have been working on the actual rWc episodes, we should have those sometime soon with reviews and discussions. Keep checking in please.

Second, both of us have really been putting a concentrated effort into building the Transformers section. Currently, the majority of the figures for the first series are available for viewing. Please see the main page for authentic G1’s versus reissues. Again, we plan to keep updating figures/weaponry as funds allow. I have pictures already for a large fraction of series 2 and 3 Transformers, thus I will move on to those soon.

Third, I have updated the video game ending section several times over the past few weeks. Last weekend Mark and I added a couple more (albeit much easier games than previous victories) in Duck Tales and Karate Kid. We did attempt Friday the 13th on NES and Night Trap on Sega CD, but Jason is one tough SOB near the end of the game and the Sega CD stopped working…time for a new one!

That’s all for now!

Dr. J

Take a look down memory lane folks. We gotta see where we’ve been to see where we’re going…

Get the Flash Player to see this content.

Well folks, to date Mark the Doc and Dr. J have been working hard on bringing you a virtual toy museum worth seeing. Between our two collections, its a lot of work. I have finally wrapped up the Battle Beasts Series 1, and nearly completed the playsets. By the end of the week I intend to have Series 2 finished. From what I undersand Mark the Doc has loosed the Thundercats, god help us :D and that project is nearly completed.

More importantly, I just wanted to inform anybody reading that we here at the rWc are constantly striving to bring you more! Thus, I have just purchased from ebay the very hard to find alternate outfitted Ken Masters and Ryu from the GI Joe Street Fighter series. These only came in the Dragon Fortress Playset, which was rare in the stores. Usually the prices on these guys are unreasonable (we’ll tackle ebay prices on our videos soon). Hopefully, Battle Beasts will be completed soon and then I’ll move on to Transformers, Pirates of Dark Water, Street Fighter/Mortal Kombat GI Joes….and Classic Star Wars legos…which will take ALOT of work.

Visionaries: Knights of the Magical Light

I am proud to announce that the rWc has just made arrangements to bring you the amazing 1997 Hasbro toyline the Visionaries: Knights of the Magical Light. This short lived cartoon, and short lived toyline, may have been long forgotten by many, but here at the First Class Redwood Connection they will live forever. Look for them arriving in two weeks to the Toy Museum.

Be sure to checkout the Completed RoboForce, Voltron and Wheeled Warriors pages for a look at three great collections…

Also be sure to checkout the Masters of The Universe section for the latest updates…

Coming this week Battle Beasts Series 1, and Thundercats

Remember: “At the rWc its first class all the way as we bring you yesterday today!”

email us at redwoodconnection@gmail.com to let us know what you want to see. Any feedback is appreciated
